Alessandro Caviezel
Doctor of Medicine
Dr Alessandro Caviezel was born in Geneva. He then completed his medical studies at the University of Geneva where he obtained the federal diploma in medicine in 1999 as well as the equivalence of American medical examinations (United States Medical Licensing Examination Step I-II).
He continued his training at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne where he obtained a certificate in biomedical engineering. He has a constant interest in cutting-edge medical technologies such as imaging, biomaterials, laser technology and robotics.
He then continued his medical training in general surgery at the University Hospital of Geneva and at the Intercantonal Hospital of La Broye, then began a course in urology at the University Hospitals of Geneva where he obtained an FMH title in urology. in 2006. He held the position of head of clinic from 2004 to 2006 where he also obtained a diploma of in-depth training in operative urology.
After a stay abroad (Western General Hospital in Edinburgh) and a fellowship in endo-urology and laparoscopy, he subsequently served from 2008 to 2012 as assistant physician to the head of the urology department of the University Hospitals of Geneva. .
From 2012, he moved into private practice, keeping a partial function as a doctor associated with the urology department until 2014. In 2015, he set up the multidisciplinary symposium on onco-urology of the Geneva group of urologists in association with the SIPC, which it still currently coordinates.
